Schery Markee-Sullivan
Schery Markee-Sullivan began her formal training studying with abstract painter Robert Kaupelis at NY in the Creative Arts Master's Program. Her watercolors are defined by a dynamic expression of color, line, and vibrant energy. Ranging in scope from elegant florals to intricate mask collages or powerful figurative pieces, the work is a diverse spectrum of creative force.

The developing body of work includes the following:

MOTHER AND CHILD SERIES
Over 20 paintings have been sold from this evocative depiction of the most profound human bond. In November 1999, the Nassau County Museum of Art Bookstore sold "Embrace", a vivid, dramatic example of this series. The signature piece from this collection, "Keeper", was the basis of "Call to Arms", a one woman show given by Long Island Picture Frame and Gallery.

CIRCLE MASK SERIES
This collage series involves the layering of masks and their multidimensional meaning. Included in this collage series are: "In Another House", "Queen of Hearts", and "In This House Divided". A central work from this series, "Discarding the Skin of Dreams" was on display at the Islip Museum in 1997.

INSTINCT SERIES
The primitive nature of man and beast is explored and depicted using a spontaneous, yet simple, earthy quality. Examples of this series are "Shy Beast", "Double Dance", "Night Falls", and "Nocturne". A show based on this grouping was given by Altamira Gallery of Islip in 1998.

OTHER SERIES INCLUDE
"Blue Horse/Blue Moon", "Ringmaster", "Man/Woman",
"American Landscape", and "Beat the Drum".

The artist's works are currently being carried by several galleries in the New York Metropolitan Area.
